Project 1:27 Featured Girl: Mackenzie

Age: 13

What crafts do you like to make? I love sewing and crocheting.

Favorite Bible verse: Jeremiah 29:11. Because in this verse it says, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord. This verse spoke to me in a way I have never heard before, I know He has got my back and He knows everything I have and will do, big and small. The verse goes on to say “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." I trust now that everything that happens to me is for His will.

Favorite music bands: 1 Girl Nation, Beckah Shae, Dara Mclean, Capital Kings, Building 429 and Manafest -yeah, I have a lot!

Favorite movie: Soul Surfer

What advice do you have for kids who are interested in doing some kind of volunteer work but they are not sure what to do? I believe that praying and asking God to show you where you are needed is an awesome thing. You are trusting God to put him in control of your life. Project 1:27 has been called to help orphans in Uganda. Pray and believe that through God, you will do amazing things. Like in this verse, (The bible tells it better than me.) Matthew 17:20 - He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Current Items for Sale

Project 1:27 Featured Girl: Sadie

How old are you? 11

Why did you want to be in Project 1:27? Well, I joined because I wanted to do something to help people, and it seemed like the perfect opportunity.

What kind of crafts do you like to make? I used to make candles. I might still make them occasionally, but I'm probably going to focus on baked goods and maybe some jewelry or sewn things.

What is your favorite Bible verse? I don't really have a favorite, but one that I read recently and liked was Matthew 6:31-34. I particularly liked 6:34, "So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of it's own." I think it's kind of funny, the image of tomorrow (which for some reason I view as a cloud) worrying about itself.

Who is your favorite band or musician? Britt Nicole

What is your favorite movie? Fly Away Home

What advice do you have for kids who are interested in doing some kind of volunteer work but they are not sure what to do? I say start with something you already like doing! And if you're looking for some group to join, I suggest you look around your church, school (if you go to school, I myself am homeschooled) or just your general area!

My advice would be this: Ask a teacher, or a parent, or a friend, and see what groups are out there to get involved in. Then go try them out and see which "group" you are most comfortable in.

Hey friends! Today we just wanted to share with you a picture of the girl we sponsor with the money we make from selling our crafts! Her name is Nelly and she is five years old. She writes very well, loves playing with her doll and swinging on the swings at the playground at Calo Me Lare - the orphanage built by Project Hope Worldwide. She is very happy that Project 1:27 sponsors her and she recently wrote us this letter...

My dear sponsors Girly Me Missions,

I love you! I pray for you that God should bless you and help you there. How are you there? Are you fine? For me, I am very fine. I love dolls and playing with Monica. I am in middle class this year. I finished 1st term very well with marks of exellence. I won a prize for being 1st in my class! It was a watch! My teacher is Teacher Toby. I love going to school. Thank you for your love for me. Thank you for sending me a letter and pictures of you. I hope to see that in future. I thank God for you. Love,

Nelly
